PT-141 Peptide

10mg / 5ml per vial

PT-141 (also known as bremelanotide) is a lab-made ring-shaped peptide that activates the melanocortin family of receptors. Researchers use it to study two of those receptors (MC3R and MC4R) and how they signal in the nervous system. Supplied as a research-grade compound.

Scientific profile

PT-141 at a glance

PT-141 is a ring-shaped version of the natural hormone alpha-MSH that switches on melanocortin receptors, with most research interest in two of them (MC3R and MC4R). When it binds, it raises a common internal signalling molecule (cAMP) inside test cells, which is the standard way researchers measure how strongly it acts.

01

What is PT-141?

PT-141, also called bremelanotide, is a ring-shaped peptide (seven amino acids) derived from a melanocortin compound called Melanotan II. Forming it into a ring locks its shape, which makes it more selective and more stable than the straight-chain compound it came from.

In research settings it's valued as a well-understood, potent melanocortin activator for cell-signalling work and receptor studies.

02

What researchers study PT-141 for

The usual setup is a cell-signalling test (measuring cAMP) in lab cells engineered to carry one specific melanocortin receptor at a time. This lets researchers compare how strongly PT-141 acts on each receptor type.

A separate body of work looks at the nervous system, where melanocortin signalling overlaps with appetite, inflammation and behaviour. Here PT-141 is usually used as a reliable reference activator rather than the thing being tested.

03

How to store and prepare PT-141

Mix with bacteriostatic water added slowly down the vial wall and swirl gently. The solution should be clear, and a faint straw colour is normal for this one.

Keep it in the fridge (2–8°C), away from light, and use within 30 days of mixing.

Certificates of analysis

Every batch tested. Every result published.

Samples from each PT-141 batch are sent to an independent, accredited UK laboratory. Purity is measured with a technique called HPLC, and identity is confirmed by mass spectrometry, before the batch is released.

Why researchers choose us

Tested, documented, repeatable

Every batch tested

No vial is released until an independent laboratory confirms the batch meets our 99% purity standard.

Research first

Everything is made, filled and documented for laboratory research, with the specs and paperwork coming before any marketing.

UK made, shipped worldwide

Made and filled at Alderley Park, the UK's largest life sciences campus, and shipped with tracking.

Consistent between batches

Every release is held to the same specification, so a repeat order behaves like the last one.

Answers

PT-141 questions, answered

Can't find what you need? Our UK team answers technical enquiries within one working day.

Is PT-141 third-party tested?

Yes. Every batch of PT-141 is checked by an independent UK laboratory that's accredited to the ISO/IEC 17025 standard. They confirm its purity (using a technique called HPLC) and its identity (using mass spectrometry). The certificate for the exact batch you receive is published on this page before we put it on sale.

Where is it made and shipped from?

Everything (making the peptide, filling the vials and quality-checking each batch) happens in the UK at our facility on Alderley Park, the country's largest life-sciences campus. Your order is picked, packed and posted from the same site, so nothing crosses a border before it reaches you.

How quickly will my order arrive?

Orders placed before 3pm, Monday to Friday, are sent out the same working day on a tracked 24-hour UK service. Delivery is free on orders over £100. Everything ships in plain, unbranded packaging.

What does 99% purity actually mean?

It means at least 99% of what's in the vial is the peptide itself, with almost no leftover by-products. We measure this with a lab technique called HPLC, and only release batches that reach 99% or higher. The exact figure for your batch is printed on its certificate.

How does PT-141 come packaged?

PT-141 arrives as a freeze-dried powder in a sealed glass vial, with a flip-off cap and a tamper-evident seal so you know it hasn't been opened. You'll need bacteriostatic water to mix it (sold separately).

Can I save money by buying more than one vial?

Yes. Two vials save you 10% and three vials save 20% against the single-vial price.

Do I get a Certificate of Analysis with every order?

Yes. A certificate comes with every batch and can be downloaded from this page. It shows the batch number, the date it was made, the purity result, confirmation of identity, appearance, water content and a contamination (endotoxin) check.

Is this product for human use?

No. Everything we sell is supplied strictly as a research-grade compound for laboratory study by qualified researchers. These products are not medicines and are not intended for human or animal consumption, injection, diagnosis or treatment.
